A global leading foreign chemical company is seeking a ‘Li-ion Battery Commercial Manager' as follows;
* Job Title: Li-ion Battery Global Commercial Manager
* Position: Bujang ~ Executive Level
* Gender:  Male or Female
* Location:  Seoul (Gangnam) or Japan (Tokyo)
 
[POSITION SUMMARY]
- Be the global commercial leader for Li-ion battery (LiB) solutions
- Create LiB commercial team leveraging resources from the Electronics and Solar business where it is relevant
- Set out activities for the LiB global commercial team in order to commercialize Si based materials which are anode, cathode and electrolyte entering in the manufacturing of high performance LiB
- The position is located in Tokyo (or Seoul) to focus more on success in Asia market
- Be a member of LiB global leadership team and lead commercial strategy creation, shaping and implementation working closely with LiB global marketing team and LiB financial manager
 
[PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES]
- Create and lead strong and effective LiB global commercial team using resources from the Electronics and Solar Business sales team
- It is anticipated that the LiB business will initially rely on these Electronics and Solar resources to support the sales activities. This will be adapted later as relevant.
- Lead to create, shape and implement LiB commercial short and long term strategy to promote and sell our Si based materials as LiB cell key components which are anode, cathode and electrolyte enabling high performance LiB where Asian market is major focus.
- Effectively communicate market feedback to LiB leadership team to remove gaps and barriers. Get key customer’s real voice for both short and long term needs on performance, cost and volume of LiB and LiB key components
- Expand the contact base with key stakeholders at existing and potential customers across all buying influences in LiB market. Also develop strong partnership with potential other battery component suppliers, equipment suppliers and next level customers in addition to direct customers.
- Be a member of LiB global leadership team
 
[ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES]
- Cooperate with Electronics LiB assembly silicone business team while LiB solutions organization focus on LiB cell key component Si based material business
- Yearly agreement with Electronics and Solar global and regional sales managers on their resource commitment for LiB solutions activities and making progress update regularly to these managers on LiB virtual commercial team’s activity  
- Good communication and cooperation in cross-functional, cross-regional and cross-business relationship as one of global contributors
 
[Knowledge and Skills Required]
- High level of initiative, ownership, leadership and openness to motivate and influence stakeholders and cross-functional & cross-regional global team
- Skill and behavior to quickly identify, create and strengthen new & exiting relationship/partnership with external parties
- Strategic thinking capability with analytical skills to understand what are the real underlying issues of market/customer/technological trends.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes and leading changes in a permanent changing environment
- Value chain knowledge and insight on materials/components for battery or the other Electronics related industries
- Strong skill in verbal and written communication both in English and Japanese. Being proficient in Korean and/or Chinese would be a significant advantage.
- Negotiation skill with Asian customers and ability to sell complete solutions (vs. commodity products).
- University degree in business, chemistry or engineering
- Work experience in battery, electronics, auto or solar industry preferably as a specialty material provider 
- Experience to lead or deeply be involved in global project preferably to commercially launch new product/technologies
- Sales team management experience is a plus
