A ship operation company is seeking a ‘Contract Manager' as follows;
* Job Title: Contract Manager
* Position: Bujang ~ Chajang
* Gender:  Male or Female
* Experience: Over 10 Years
* Location:  Seoul
 
The successful candidate will manage a variety of government, international, and commercial contracts and subcontracts including but not limited to shipbuilding contract, charter party (voyage charter, time charter, lump sum charter, daily charter, BBC etc.), purchasing agreement, employment agreement, agency/distributorship agreement, consulting agreement, lease agreement, joint venture agreement, in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements.
 
The Contract Manager may manage more than one engagement or, alternatively, be full-time on a single engagement (depending on the size/complexity of the agreement).
 
[Key Responsibilities]
• Provides commercial advice and support to Contract Director and CEO by proactively advising on contracts with customers, distributors and suppliers, and other general commercial issues as needed.
• Establish and lead bid review processes, highlighting and managing non-compliances
• Negotiates, drafts, reviews and manages corporate agreements and contracts including:
 o Shipbuilding and Offshore contracts
 o Charter Party (voyage/time/lump sum/daily charter and BBC etc.)
 o Project financing agreement with various organizations (banks, SIC and other financing entities)
 o Lease agreement
 o Non-disclosure agreements
 o Agency contracts
 o Joint venture agreements
 o Supplier contracts etc.
• Undertake opportunity assessment from a commercial perspective.
• Structure contractual arrangements with customers, partners and subcontractors so as to contain risk levels whilst satisfying the customer and optimizing ROMAN’s return.
• Advises on contractual rights and obligations; works with sales, operations, service and finance teams to ensure contractual requirements are met
• Develop responses to customer’s contractual and commercial requirements.
• Engage legal assistance or approval as and when required.
• Contributes to legal & business risk management
• Administration responsibilities:
 o Manage the process of internal review and approval of opportunities, quotations and contracts;
 o Ensure all key documents are tracked and filed as per company’s requirements
 o Formalize contractual amendments, variations and changes;
 o Prepare formal correspondence / contractual notice coordination;
 o Develop contract overviews;
 o Undertake contract risk monitoring, management and reporting;
 o Attends to the signing of corporate documents, as authorized.
  
Reports to: Contract Management Director
 
Supervises: 
On large and complex projects, may be required to supervise Contract Management professionals, project staff, or other business personnel.  However, there may be no direct reports as this job is focused on functional expertise rather than supervisory responsibilities. 
 
External Relationships: 
Client procurement/contract management professionals, vendor representatives and other client project personnel
           
[Qualifications]
- Education: Tertiary qualified (mandatory): Legal, Business or Engineering degrees preferred.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of applicable industry experience with contract and commercial management (shipbuilding, offshore and charter party business)
- Contract management
- Proposal / tender / bid review management
- Previous experience in a similar role and evidence of a “commercial” focus
- Work Requirements: Travel within geography

• Comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles, subcontracting practices, and accounting and finance principles
• Able to resolve contracts and pricing issues
• Able to advise and interact with all levels of management
• Able to demonstrate excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills in English
• Demonstrated proficiency in using spreadsheets and Microsoft Word
• Competencies in corporate law, contract law and general business skills.
