A global leading foreign chemical company is seeking a ‘Material Science Technologist’ as follow;
* Job Title: Material Science Technologist

[RESPONSIBILITIES]
- Responsible for the development and commercialization of silicone products for lighting and display applications and characterization of the materials developed
- Scientific characterization of silicone material, and creating new ways for silicone material characterization
- Develop and characterize new LED encapsulants for electronics customers by working closely with the customers and chemists to define critical material properties
- Solve technical problems with scientific rigor
- Validate the efficacy of new products and materials by laboratory testing and larger scale trials, using industry standards or customer-specified test methods
- Develop and maintain a technical understanding of the literature and patent related to current and potential commercialization of technology development projects and protect intellectual property
- Formulation, testing of thermal, mechanical and rheological properties of developed materials.
- Developing new conceptual and substantial materials for LED and microelectronics
- Work with development chemists or researches to develop new materials & products and deliver the information about new material required to be developed by closely interacting with microelectronics and LED customers.
* Effective communication skills are necessary for working with the external customers, and to translate the market needs into product specifications and concepts

 

[QUALIFICATIONS]
- Master or Ph.D. degree in material science or chemistry with 5-10 years working experience in new product/material development and whose dissertation is related to material science, organic chemistry, polymerization and new chemical synthesis
- Working experience in developing Silicone should be advantage but not critical or essential
- Good at material science with lab experience
- Understanding about DOE and general understanding about analytical science are preferred
- Good communication skill in English and Korean and interpersonal relationship to work with people in the other functions and countries
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple development priorities in order to meet project time-lines
