A global leading foreign chemical company is seeking a ‘Product Development Chemist’ as follow;

[RESPONSIBILITIES]
- Responsible for the development and commercialization of silicone products for LED, Lighting and display applications
- Develop new encapsulants and products for Lighting and LED customers by working closely with the customers to define critical material properties
- Solve technical problems with scientific rigor
- Validate the efficacy of new products by laboratory testing and larger scale trials, using industry standards or customer-specified test methods
- Provide scientific understandings to ensure appropriate product specification setting to allow smooth project transfer to process engineering and manufacturing
- Develop and maintain a technical understanding of the literature and patent related to current and potential commercialization of technology development projects and protect intellectual property
- Formulation, testing of thermal, mechanical and rheological properties of developed materials
- Work as part of the commercialization team while interacting with marketers, chemical engineers and application development people on CE project team to commercialize new products for the LED and display market segment
* Effective communication skills are necessary for working with the external customers, and to translate the market needs into product specifications and concepts.

 

[QUALIFICATIONS]
- Master or Ph.D. degree in chemistry, polymer science or material science with 1-5 years working experience
- Working experience in developing Silicone should be advantage but not critical or essential
- Good at organic chemistry, understand the chemical reactions and have lab experience
- Understanding about DOE and general understanding about analytical science are preferred
- Good communication skill in English and Korean and interpersonal relationship to work with people in the other functions and countries
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple development priorities in order to meet project timelines
